A very interesting game took place in Plasencia. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Adepla (5-11) to fifth ranked Torta del Casar (9-7) 60-58 on Saturday evening. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Strangely Adepla outrebounded Torta del Casar 37-16 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bourama Doumbia orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Eduardo Recio (188-1) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Torta del Casar's coach Armando Gomez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Ernest Maize (203-94, college: Philander Smith) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Nacho Arias (178-97) added 10 points and 6 assists in the effort for Adepla. Torta del Casar maintains fifth position in Group D-B with 9-7 record. Adepla lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
