Second Stage Round 10: GOCOR-Sozh - RCOP Tsmoki 113-101

There was no surprise in Gomel where 10th ranked RCOP Tsmoki (4-14) was defeated by seventh ranked GOCOR-Sozh (9-9) 113-101 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by GOCOR-Sozh. RCOP Tsmoki managed to win third quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. GOCOR-Sozh looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Sergey Pyzirin (202-92) had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 23 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Evgeniy Ribkin (195-96) chipped in 24 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Timofey Karpuk (185-2) responded with 32 points and 6 assists and point guard Mikita Dashkevich (175-1) scored 17 points and 9 assists. Five GOCOR-Sozh and four RCOP Tsmoki players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. GOCOR-Sozh maintains seventh position with 9-9 record. Loser RCOP Tsmoki keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. GOCOR-Sozh will meet at home Brest (#8) in the next round. RCOP Tsmoki will play against Prinemanye in Grodno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
