Regular Season Round 14: Lahti - OBA 72-80

U19 League top team - OBA (12-0) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Lahti (5-8) 80-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lahti. Lahti trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 23-14 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 72-80 at the end of the game. OBA forced 24 Lahti turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Lahti helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Abdimaalik Yusuf (196-1) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Niki Juntunen (188-1) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. OBA's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Eemi Luukkonen (200-2) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and guard Arttu Nykanen (185-2) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lahti. OBA have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Lahti at the other side keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. OBA's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Espoo Honka.
