There was an upset in S'Arenal where higher ranked Palma (14-8) was defeated by ninth ranked Caceres Basket (12-10) 75-64 on Sunday. Caceres Basket made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Caceres Basket outrebounded Palma 45-32 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Palma was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Jorge Bilbao (203-95, college: UT Arlington) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Dutch forward Jordy Kuiper (206-95, college: UNCG, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Alex Hernandez (190-93) responded with 11 points and Argentinian-Italian Pablo Bertone (193-90, college: FAU, agency: Interperformances) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Caceres Basket maintains ninth position with 12-10 record. Palma lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with eight games lost. Caceres Basket will face higher ranked Leche Rio Breogan (#7) in Lugo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Palma will play on the road against CB Granada and hope to win that game.
