Regular Season Round 20: Arha Hoteles - Baskonia 85-67

There was no surprise in Santander where 8th ranked Baskonia (10-9) was defeated by third ranked Arha Hoteles (13-6) 85-67 on Sunday. Arha Hoteles dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Baskonia's 26. They outrebounded Baskonia 40-20 including a 28-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian forward Petar Radojicic (206-94, college: St.Mary's, TX) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and Cameroonian Nelson Yengue (190-92, college: Laurentian) who added 15 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Arha Hoteles players scored in double figures. Arha Hoteles' coach Joaquin Romano used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Argentinian Lucas Sigismonti (1-3) responded with 24 points and Czech guard Ondrej Hanzlik (193-2) scored 11 points. Arha Hoteles have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group A-A with 13-6 record having just three points less than leader Alcobendas. Loser Baskonia dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Arha Hoteles will face Zarautz (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Baskonia will play against Santurtzi and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the LEB Silver just one year after relegation.
