We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Kumamoto V. (17-26) won against at home 4th placed Tokyo EX (18-23) 104-91 on Sunday. Kumamoto V. shot 64.9 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Kumamoto V. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Tokyo EX was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated also this game. Quite impressive performance for power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Marqus Blakely (201-88, college: Vermont) contributed with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) answered with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Tokyo EX. Four Tokyo EX players scored in double figures. Tokyo EX's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kumamoto V. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bambitious N. Newly promoted Tokyo EX keeps the fourth position with 23 games lost. Kumamoto V. will face Bambitious N. (#5) in Nara in the next round. Tokyo EX will play on the road against Aomori W. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
