Regular Season Round 21: Moncalieri - San Martino 76-25

Serie A2 top team - Moncalieri (18-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighth ranked San Martino (9-10) 76-25. Moncalieri held San Martino to an opponent 21.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Moncalieri forced 25 San Martino turnovers and outrebounded them 48-23 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was German forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Erica Reggiani (175-94) chipped in 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Sara Nezaj (180-1) who recorded 8 points and point guard Alice Peserico (170-2) added 2 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Moncalieri maintains first place in A2 with 18-2 record. Loser San Martino keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Moncalieri will meet Udine (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Martino will play against Bolzano BK and hope to secure a win.
