Regular Season Round 20: Mondragon - Solares 96-71

Very expected game when 13th ranked Solares (7-12) was crushed on the road by second ranked Mondragon (13-5) 96-71 on Sunday. Mondragon outrebounded Solares 47-25 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Dani Lorenzo (181-93) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Simion Mancebo (200-94) who added 22 points during the contest. Five Mondragon players scored in double figures. Mondragon's coach Inaki Ogara felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Carlos Sepulveda (178-96) responded with 26 points and forward Sergio Garcia (195-95) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Mondragon maintains second position in Group A-A with 13-5 record having four points less than leader Alcobendas. Solares lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 12 games lost. Mondragon will face Easo (#4) in San Sebastian in the next round. Solares will play at home against Filipenses (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
