Regular Season Round 38: Kanazawa - Kagoshima 91-100

No shocking result in a game in Ishikawa where eighth ranked Kagoshima (17-20) defeated bottom-ranked Kanazawa (7-31) 100-91. 25 personal fouls committed by Kanazawa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the effort and the other American import forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Even 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) did not help to save the game for Kanazawa. Point guard Takehiro Yamaguchi (182-94) added 18 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts. Five Kanazawa players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagoshima moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Saitama B. Kanazawa at the other side stay dead last with 31 lost games. Kagoshima's next round opponent will be higher ranked Aisin AW (#3) in Aichi and it may be quite challenging game. Kanazawa will play on the road against the league's second-placed Toyoda Gosei (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
