There was a surprise result in Olaz where tenth ranked Valle de Egues (8-10) defeated higher ranked Easo (12-7) 73-55 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Javier Lacunza (203-94, college: FAU) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Alex Calvo (180-91) who added 11 points during the contest. Center Aitor Anabitarte (203-2) responded with 8 points and 10 rebounds and Urko Gonzalez (188-0) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Valle de Egues have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place in Group A-A, which they share with Zarautz. Loser Easo keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Valle de Egues will face Tabirako (#11) in Durango in the next round. Easo will play at home against the league's second-placed Mondragon (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
