Regular Season Round 24: Orlandina CdO - Eurobasket RO 75-74

Thirteenth-ranked Eurobasket RO (7-17) was very close to win a game against first ranked Orlandina CdO (179-17) in Capo d'Orlando. Orlandina CdO managed to secure only one-point victory 75-74. However their fans expected much easier game. Orlandina CdO made 28-of-37 charity shots (75.7 percent) during the game, while Eurobasket RO only scored eleven points from the stripe. Orlandina CdO brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Eurobasket RO was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Marco Lagana (197-93) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!) and American guard Jon Elmore (190-95, college: Marshall) who added 20 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Alessandro Amici (200-91) with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Eugenio Fanti (184-91) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Eurobasket RO players scored in double figures. Orlandina CdO maintains first position in A2 with 179-17 record. Eurobasket RO at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. Orlandina CdO will play against Bergamo Bsk (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Eurobasket RO will play against Blu Basket TVG and hopes to get back on the winning track.
