Regular Season Round 18: Ura Basket II - PuHu Juniorit 106-101

An interesting game took place in Kaarina where higher ranked PuHu Juniorit (11-7) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Ura Basket II (5-12) 106-101. It looked good early as PuHu Juniorit took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ura Basket II had a 27-14 second period charge getting the lead and PuHu Juniorit was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 101-106. Ura Basket II shot 25 for 42 from the free-throw line, while PuHu Juniorit only scored nine points from the stripe. 28 personal fouls committed by PuHu Juniorit helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for guard Trey Niemi (185-98) who led his team to a victory with 36 points (!!!). American power forward Brian Moultrie (198-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Trey Hall (190-95, college: Cameron) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and swingman Samatar Abokar (190-1) added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for PuHu Juniorit. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. PuHu Juniorit's coach Mikko Larkas tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ura Basket II maintains tenth position in Division with 5-12 record. PuHu Juniorit at the other side dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Ura Basket II's next round opponent will be league's second-placed PeU-Basket in Pernio and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. PuHu Juniorit will play at home against HyPo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
