The most exciting game of round 22 in the D1 took place in Stykkisholmur. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 9th ranked Snaefell (2-16) to eighth ranked Skallagrimur (3-14) 74-71 on Monday evening. American center Kenneth Simms (206-86, college: Cumberland, agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 21 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Guard Hjalti-Asberg Thorleifsson (185-96) chipped in 27 points and 7 rebounds. Skallagrimur's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Italian center Brandon Cataldo (213-91, college: Portland St.) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Swedish Gabriel Adersteg (201-95, college: Bethesda) added 23 points respectively for lost side. Skallagrimur moved-up to seventh place. Snaefell lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Skallagrimur are looking forward to face higher ranked FSU (#6) in Selfoss in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Snaefell will play on the road against the league's leader Hamar having rather not much hope for a victory.
