Top ranked London Lightning (12-6) recorded its sixth loss at the home court on Monday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Titans (6-12) 108-107. They made 37-of-43 free shots (86.0 percent) during the game, while London Lightning only scored twenty one points from the stripe. Strangely London Lightning outrebounded Titans 61-46 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. 36 personal fouls committed by London Lightning helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Damon Lynn (180-95, college: NJIT) fired 26 points for the winners. Point guard Ed Horton (186-85, college: Murray St.) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Horton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Randy Phillips (203-95, college: Radford) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and guard Marcus Capers (193-89, college: WSU, agency: Interperformances) added 9 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Five Titans and four London Lightning players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Titans maintains fourth position with 6-12 record. London Lightning at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost. Titans are looking forward to face higher ranked Windsor Express (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. London Lightning will play against Windsor Express and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
