Regular Season Round 8: Zaza - Hyundai 74-58

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Tbilisi: Zaza (#2) and Hyundai (#4). Zaza (6-1) smashed visiting Hyundai (4-3) by 16 points 74-58. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Hyundai. The game was mostly controlled by Zaza. Hyundai was better in third quarter 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Zaza won last quarter 24-10. Zaza outrebounded Hyundai 53-33 including a 40-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Luka Qutidze (177-2) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists and center Luka Kutchukhidze (198-4) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Forward Jaba Jmukhadze (181-3) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Levan Qvartskhava (189-2) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zaza maintains second position with 6-1 record having just three points less than leader Dinamo. Hyundai at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Zaza's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Wings.
