Regular Season Round 22: ViVe - Helmi Basket 76-87

Rather expected game in Vimpeli where 9th ranked ViVe (5-17) was defeated by seventh ranked Helmi Basket (8-14) 87-76. The game was mostly controlled by Helmi Basket. ViVe was better in second period 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded ViVe 45-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a very good performance for international center Awak Kuier (194-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Saga Ukkonen (174-1) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Abria Trice (185-92, college: ECU, agency: LBM Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and her fellow American import swingman Amy Griffin (183-96, college: La Salle) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for ViVe. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Helmi Basket maintains seventh position with 8-14 record. ViVe at the other side keeps the ninth place with 17 games lost. Helmi Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Helsinki Torpan Pojat.
