Regular Season Round 21: KR - Haukar 75-72

The most exciting game of round 21 in the Dominos League took place in Reykjavik. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Haukar (13-8) to second ranked KR (16-5) 75-72 in the game for the second place. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-72. KR outrebounded Haukar 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Danielle Rodriguez (178-93, college: Utah) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international Hildur Kjartansdottir (188-94, college: UTRGV) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four KR players scored in double figures. KR's coach Benedikt Gudmundsson used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Randi Brown (170-96, college: New Orleans) who recorded 18 points and international point guard Thora Jonsdottir (171-97) added 17 points respectively. KR have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-5 record having just three points less than leader Valur. Haukar at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. KR are looking forward to face Keflavik (#5) on the road in the next round. Haukar will play against Skallagrimur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
