Very important is a road loss of second ranked St.John's E. (9-6) against fourth ranked Titans (6-12) on Thursday night. Visiting St.John's E. was defeated by Titans in Kitchener 101-86. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of St.John's E.. Titans players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The winners were led by American forward Akeem Ellis (198-90, college: Coppin St.) who scored that evening 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import point guard Ed Horton (186-85, college: Murray St.) supported him with 19 points and 9 assists. Horton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Titans' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by American point guard Coron Williams (185-89, college: Wake Forest) did not help to save the game for St.John's E.. Forward Tyrone Watson (196-90, college: N.Mexico St.) added 13 points and 5 assists for lost side. Five Titans and four St.John's E. players scored in double figures. Titans maintains fourth position with 6-12 record. St.John's E. at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost.
