Second Stage Round 6: COR Victoria - Olimpia 60-97

COR Victoria (1-1) recorded its first loss in Brest on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by second ranked Olimpia (3-1) 97-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of COR Victoria. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 97-60. Olimpia dominated on the defensive end, holding COR Victoria to just 7 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to COR Victoria's 28. Olimpia forced 20 COR Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 51-30 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Tatyana Mikhnevich (174-99) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Forward Nadzeya Nadzezhka (183-87) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Olimpia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Daria Panasyuk (176-96) who recorded 16 points and 6 assists and forward Anastasia Babak (180-2) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Olimpia maintains second position with 3-1 record behind leader Gorizont II, which they share with RGUOR. COR Victoria at the other side dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Grodno Victoria.
