Regular Season Round 23: Hamar - Snaefell 108-79

D1 top team - Hamar (17-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Snaefell (2-17) 108-79. The game was mostly controlled by Hamar. Snaefell was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Snaefell's players. It was a great evening for guard Ragnar Ragnarsson (188-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Palmi Jonsson (196-93) helped adding 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Hamar's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Italian center Brandon Cataldo (213-91, college: Portland St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and guard Isak Baldursson (190-3) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hamar have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-2 record, which they share with Hottur. Snaefell lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Hamar will play against Vestri (#4) in the next round. Snaefell will play against the league's second-placed Hottur (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
