Regular Season Round 115: Utah Jazz - San Antonio S. 104-113

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Jazz (35-20) against fourth ranked Spurs (24-31) on Friday night. Host Jazz was defeated by Spurs in a tough game in Salt Lake City 104-113. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Jazz. Spurs made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Spurs brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for guard Dejounte Murray (193-96, college: Washington) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Swingman DeMar DeRozan (201-89, college: USC) accounted for 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. French center Rudy Gobert (216-92) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and DR Congolese guard Emmanuel Mudiay (196-96) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Jazz in the defeat. Five Spurs and four Jazz players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spurs maintains fourth place with 24-31 record. Jazz at the other side still keeps top position with 20 games lost. They share it with Houston R. and Miami Heat. Spurs will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jazz will play at home against the league's leader Rockets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
