We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Portland where 4th placed Trail Blazers (25-32) were defeated by fifth ranked Pelicans (23-33) 128-115 on Friday. Pelicans shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Trail Blazers' players. It was a great evening for forward Zion Williamson (202-0, college: Duke) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points. Point guard Jrue Holiday (193-90, college: UCLA) helped adding 20 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. Pelicans' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard CJ McCollum (193-91, college: Lehigh) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and center Hassan Whiteside (213-89, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Pelicans maintains fifth place with 23-33 record. Trail Blazers lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 32 games lost.
