Rather expected game when 10th ranked Tarbes (4-10) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (7-7) 72-58 on Friday. Villeneuve D'Ascq outrebounded Tarbes 37-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Johanne Gomis-Halilovic (179-85) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Villeneuve D'Ascq players scored in double figures. Villeneuve D'Ascq's coach Rachid Meziane used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swedish center Louice Halvarsson (191-89) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Tima Pouye (174-99) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Villeneuve D'Ascq moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Flammes and Landes. Tarbes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Charnay.
