Regular Season Round 21: Cornella - Olivar 70-82

There was an upset when higher ranked Cornella (12-7) was defeated at home by bottom-ranked Olivar (7-12) 82-70 on Saturday. Olivar had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was point guard Javier Garcia (187-1) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Swingman Christian Hernandez (192-3) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Olivar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Ignasi Belver (197-94) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and guard Xavi Guirao (190-87) added 11 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Olivar moved-up to tenth place in Group C-B. Loser Cornella dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Olivar will face higher ranked Badalones (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cornella will play against Salou (#8) and hope to win that game.
