Rather predictable result when third ranked GDKO Bizkaia (15-5) won against 5th ranked Real Celta Vigo (12-7) in Galdakao 72-66 on Saturday. GDKO Bizkaia outrebounded Real Celta Vigo 40-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. It was a very good performance for forward Laura Arroyo (180-91) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Alicia Villegas (174-94) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four GDKO Bizkaia players scored in double figures. American forward Breanna Richardson (185-95, college: Mississippi St.) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Nigerian forward Elo Edeferioka (188-93, college: Georgia Tech) added 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Real Celta Vigo. The victory was the third consecutive win for GDKO Bizkaia. They maintain third place in Group A with 15-5 record having just two points less than leader Estudiantes. Loser Real Celta Vigo dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. GDKO Bizkaia will face Pozuelo (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Real Celta Vigo will play against Alcobendas (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
