Regular Season Round 22: Hogsbo - Norrort 133-125 OT

Fourth-ranked Taby Basket (11-9) gave a tough game to third ranked Hogsbo (16-4) in Goteborg on Saturday. Hogsbo managed to secure only eight-point victory 133-125. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 28-23 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 17-14. Hogsbo made 37-of-45 free shots (82.2 percent) during the game, while Taby Basket only scored nineteen points from the stripe. They outrebounded Taby Basket 48-37 including 17 on the offensive glass. Hogsbo looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Taby Basket was plagued by 37 personal fouls down the stretch. Croatian forward Toni Vitali (203-91) had a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 22 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Kristian Ternell (199-92) chipped in 30 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Gustaf Tjernberg (198-99) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and guard Hannes Widell (183-94) scored 37 points (!!!). Five Hogsbo and four Taby Basket players scored in double figures. Hogsbo have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 16-4 record having five points less than leader KFUM Fryshuset. Newly promoted Taby Basket keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Hogsbo will face Trelleborg (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Taby Basket will play against Helsingborg (#9) and hope to win that game.
