Date: February 22, 2020
The game in Utrecht supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Binnenland (18-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Cangeroes (2-21). Binnenland smashed Cangeroes 64-42 on Saturday. Binnenland dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Cangeroes' 16. Binnenland forced 19 Cangeroes turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Eline Kasius (190-92) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Marlou De-Kleijn (183-92) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side. Renee Hoveling (186-94, college: MCC Toronto) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Maaike Van-Zeijl (188-1) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Cangeroes in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Binnenland. They maintain second place with 18-5 record having just two points less than leader Grasshoppers. Cangeroes lost their tenth game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the seventh position with 21 games lost. They share it with Keijser Capital. Binnenland will meet at home Jolly J. (#5) in the next round. Cangeroes will play against Loon Lions in Landsmeer and hope to secure a win.
