Regular Season Round 25: STK Czarni - GKS Tychy 85-64

Very expected game in Slupsk where 10th ranked GKS Tychy (9-13) was crushed by third ranked STK Czarni (16-7) 85-64 on Saturday. STK Czarni dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to GKS Tychy's 16. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by GKS Tychy's players. Swingman Damian Janiak (195-89, agency: Promotex) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners and Patryk Pelka (202-89) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four STK Czarni players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Norbert Kulon (187-92) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and Marcin Woroniecki (186-0) scored 15 points. GKS Tychy's coach Tomasz Jagielka was aware about no chance of winning the game, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. STK Czarni maintains third place with 16-7 record behind leader Gornik Walbrzych. GKS Tychy lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. STK Czarni will have a break next round. GKS Tychy will play at home against Pruszkow (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
