Regular Season Round 21: Clarinos - Cadi La Seu 72-83

The most interesting game of round 21 was a home defeat of 8th ranked Clarinos (10-11) to seventh ranked Cadi La Seu (11-10) 83-72. It ended the two-game winning streak of Clarinos. Cadi La Seu dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Clarinos' 32. Irati Etxarri (187-98) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and Portuguese-Serbian guard Jovana Nogic (185-97, college: Providence) chipped in 18 points. The best for the losing side was American guard Tanaya Atkinson (183-96, college: Temple) with 19 points and Portuguese guard Maria Bettencourt (173-91) scored 15 points. Four Clarinos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cadi La Seu have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ensino. Newly promoted Clarinos keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Cadi La Seu is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Socinsa Bembibre (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Clarinos will play against Valencia (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
