The most exciting game of round 17 in the Basketettan took place in Stockholm. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Talje Knights (10-4) to fifth ranked Hammarby (8-6) 84-83 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Talje Knights. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 21-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Talje Knights 52-35 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hammarby looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Bosnian Mak Bajic (-97) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Leonard Cooks (190-92) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hammarby players scored in double figures. Point guard Mario Blazevic (180-93) produced 31 points and 8 assists and forward Adam Karahmetovic (190-98) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Hammarby maintains fifth place in South with 8-6 record. Newly promoted Talje Knights keep the third position with four games lost. Hammarby are looking forward to face Eskilstuna (#7) at home in the next round. Talje Knights will play against Huddinge (#10) and are hoping to win this game.
