Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Iraurgi (8-11) defeated 11th ranked Arxil Pontevedra (5-14) in Azkoitia 74-68 on Saturday. Iraurgi forced 22 Arxil Pontevedra turnovers. It was a very good performance for American center Jaisa Nunn (190-97, college: N.Mexico) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. Canadian swingman Jessica Fequiere (180-93, college: Albany) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Heather Forster (188-96, college: Albany) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds and forward Maria Lago (177-92) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Arxil Pontevedra. Five Arxil Pontevedra players scored in double figures. Arxil Pontevedra's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Iraurgi maintains ninth place in Group A with 8-11 record. Arxil Pontevedra lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Iraurgi will face league's leader ASEFA Estudiantes in Madrid in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Arxil Pontevedra will play at home against Barakaldo (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
