Regular Season Round 15: Sykki - Lahti 68-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Sykki's (4-10) home loss to seventh ranked Lahti (6-8) 68-85 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-68. It was a great evening for forward Eemi Luukkonen (200-2) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Arttu Nykanen (185-2) helped adding 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Cristian Ahokas (202-1) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Elmo Uitto (181-2) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Sykki players scored in double figures. Sykki's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lahti maintains seventh place with 6-8 record. Loser Sykki keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Lahti will face higher ranked Kataja (#5) in Joensuu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sykki will play on the road against Honka in Espoo and hope to win that game.
