Regular Season Round 19: Rethymno - Lavrio 75-77

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Rethymno (8-11) was edged at home by sixth ranked Lavrio (10-9) 77-75 on Saturday. Lavrio made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Quenton DeCosey (196-93, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 6 rebounds. The former international point guard Michail Lountzis (196-98) helped adding 13 points. At the losing side American point guard Conner Frankamp (185-95, college: Wichita St.) responded with 31 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Wesley Gordon (206-94, college: Colorado, agency: 3Eye) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Lavrio and four Rethymno players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lavrio maintains sixth place with 10-9 record. Rethymno at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Lavrio will face Panionios (#12) in Athens in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rethymno will play on the road against Promitheas (#4) in Patras and hope to win that game.
