We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Monfalcone (13-9) lost at home to sixth ranked Omnia Basket (13-8) 76-66 on Saturday. Omnia Basket made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Point guard Mattia Venucci (188-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Naturalized Ivorian guard Mohamed Toure (189-92) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four Omnia Basket players scored in double figures. Giulio Casagrande (197-93, agency: Players Group) answered with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Matteo Schina (180-1, agency: Players Group) added 15 points in the effort for Monfalcone. Monfalcone's coach Luigi Tomasi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Omnia Basket moved-up to fifth place in B. Monfalcone lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Omnia Basket will face Juvi Cremona (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Monfalcone will play against Padova (#3) and hope to win that game.
