Regular Season Round 22: Keflavik - KR 77-71

The most important game in the last round took place in Keflavik between second ranked KR (16-6) and fifth ranked Keflavik (11-8) on Saturday night. KR was defeated by Keflavik in a tough game on the road 71-77. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of KR. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-71. Worth to mention a great performance of Venezuelan Daniela Wallen (180-95, college: Oklahoma City) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Thoranna Hodge-Carr (166-99) contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Danielle Rodriguez (178-93, college: Utah) replied with 34 points (!!!) and the former international power forward Unnur Jonsdottir (181-89) added 17 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for KR. Keflavik maintains fifth position with 11-8 record. KR at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Keflavik are looking forward to face higher ranked Haukar (#3) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KR will play at home against Breidablik and is hoping to win this game.
