Regular Season Round 18: Mark - Wetterbygden 59-66

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Wetterbygden's (9-7) road victory over 8th ranked Mark (4-12) 66-59 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-59. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Samantha Cooper (188-95, college: Fairfield) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Lovisa Hjern (175-99) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Terae Briggs (190, college: Nevada) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Cierra Johnson (175, college: UT Arlington) added 13 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wetterbygden have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 9-7 record. Mark at the other side keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Wetterbygden will face higher ranked A3 Basket (#6) in Umea in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mark will play at home against A3 Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
