Regular Season Round 40: Toyoda Gosei - Kanazawa 109-92

Very expected game in Aichi where 12th ranked Kanazawa (7-33) was defeated by second ranked Toyoda Gosei (29-11) 109-92. Toyoda Gosei dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa's 36 and made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Kanazawa 42-19 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Toyoda Gosei players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Kanazawa's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American JD Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 10 assists. The other American import Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Toyoda Gosei's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Takehiro Yamaguchi (182-94) added 28 points in the effort for Kanazawa. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Toyoda Gosei maintains second position with 29-11 record behind leader Saga B., which they share with Iwate Big Bulls and Aisin AW. Kanazawa lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 33 lost games. Toyoda Gosei's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Aichi to the arena Aisin AW.
