Regular Season Round 40: Kagoshima - Aisin AW 73-98

The game in Renova supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Aisin AW (29-11) played at the court of 8th ranked Kagoshima (17-22). Aisin AW smashed Kagoshima 98-73 on Sunday. They outrebounded Kagoshima 41-27 including 32 on the defensive glass. Aisin AW looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American Kyle Richardson (200-91, college: Portland St.) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Yuki Ishihara (180-91) chipped in 20 points and 8 assists. Five Aisin AW players scored in double figures. American forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aisin AW have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Iwate Big Bulls and Toyoda Gosei. Loser Kagoshima keeps the eighth position with 22 games lost. Aisin AW's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Aichi Toyoda Gosei.
