An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Hiroshima. First ranked Dragonflies faced second-best Kagawa FA. Host Dragonflies (38-7) smashed guests from Takamatsu (26-17) 109-62. Dragonflies shot 60.3 percent from the field. Dragonflies had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Dragonflies looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) chipped in 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Motoshi Shimada (196-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Takayuki Kodama (166-92) added 15 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Dragonflies. They maintain first place with 38-7 record. Kagawa FA lost their third game in a row. They keep the second position with 17 games lost. Dragonflies will face Orange Vikings (#3) in Matsuyama in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
