Regular Season Round 23: Alba - Palermo GB 96-71

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Palermo GB (16-5) was outscored on the road by sixth ranked Alba (15-7) 96-71 on Sunday. They made 27-of-29 free shots (93.1 percent) during the game. Palermo GB was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Diego Terenzi (190-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Tommaso Rossi (202-99, agency: Agency) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Giuseppe Caronna (208-94) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Luca Pollone (195-97, agency: Players Group) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Palermo GB. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alba maintains sixth place in B with 15-7 record. Loser Palermo GB keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Alba will face Alessandria FB (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Palermo GB will play against Piombino (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
