Regular Season Round 45: Tokyo Z - Koshigaya A. 70-60

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Tokyo Z (#6) and Koshigaya A. (#5). Tokyo Z (11-34) won against visiting Koshigaya A. (14-31) 70-60. Tokyo Z dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Koshigaya A.'s 16. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: Northwestern St.) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds. Nigerian-American center Nnanna Egwu (211-92, college: Illinois) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Andrew Naymick (209-85, college: Michigan St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and American guard Charles Hinkle (198-88, college: American) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tokyo Z maintains sixth place with 11-34 record, which they share with Fukuoka R. Koshigaya A. lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 31 games lost. Tokyo Z will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Koshigaya A. will play at home against FE Nagoya (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
