There was a minor upset in Oakland where their close opponent Warriors (12-45) were defeated by fifth ranked Pelicans (24-33) 115-101 on Sunday. Pelicans looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Jrue Holiday (193-90, college: UCLA) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists. Forward Zion Williamson (202-0, college: Duke) chipped in 28 points and 7 rebounds. Pelicans' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Damion Lee (198-92, college: Louisville) who recorded 22 points and 4 assists and guard Ky Bowman (185-98, college: Boston Coll.) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively.
