Everything went according to plan when first ranked Palestrina (21-2) defeated 9th ranked Ruvo (12-11) in Ruvo di Puglia 83-75 on Sunday. Ruvo was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Gianmarco Rossi (182-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese center Iba-Koite Thiam (205-98, agency: Players Group) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Giovanni Laquintana (187-91) answered with 23 points and power forward Matteo De-Leone (198-97) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Ruvo. Four Ruvo players scored in double figures. Palestrina maintains first place in B with 21-2 record. Newly promoted Ruvo keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. Palestrina's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Roma Roma SAzzurra.
