There was an upset when higher ranked Civitanova (13-10) lost on the road to tenth ranked Faenza (11-12) 78-67 on Sunday. Faenza outrebounded Civitanova 39-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Simon Anumba (191-96) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Giovanni Bruni (185-82, agency: Players Group) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Faenza players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Valerio Amoroso (204-80, agency: Interperformances) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Fabrizio Trapani (173-98) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Civitanova. Faenza maintains tenth place in B with 11-12 record. Loser Civitanova dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Faenza will face higher ranked Ozzano (#8) in Ozzano dell Emilia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
