Regular Season Round 25: Basket RAV - Pompea MNV 68-71

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Basket RAV (20-5) in Ravenna on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by sixth ranked Pompea MNV (15-10) 71-68. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. American point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) stepped up and scored 26 points and 5 assists for the winners and naturalized Argentinian Mario-Jose Ghersetti (201-81) chipped in 15 points. Pompea MNV's coach Alessandro Finelli used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Giddy Potts (188-95, college: MTSU) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import power forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) scored 15 points. Four Basket RAV players scored in double figures. Pompea MNV moved-up to fourth place in A2. Basket RAV at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Pompea MNV are looking forward to face higher ranked Tezenis VER (#3) in Verona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Basket RAV will play on the road against Poderosa MNT in Montenegrano and is hoping to win this game.
