Regular Season Round 18: Panathinaikos - Kronos AD 64-51

No shocking result in a game in Athens where third ranked Panathinaikos (14-4) defeated 9th ranked Kronos AD (6-12) 64-51 on Sunday. Panathinaikos dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kronos AD's 30. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Chastity Reed (185-89, college: UALR) had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Samantha Mackay (174-91, college: Dayton) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Kayla Gordon (183-95, college: Jacksonville) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and guard Brooke Johnson (183-96, college: UNLV) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Kronos AD's coach Giorgos Roumbelakis rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Panathinaikos have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Kronos AD at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Panathinaikos will meet bottom-ranked Melissia (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kronos AD will play against PAOK and hope to secure a win.
