Regular Season Round 18: Lulea Basket - Telge 89-75 OT

Telge (#4) forced the game against Lulea Basket (#3) into an overtime, but lost by fourteen points 75-89 on Sunday night. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 16-12 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 14-point victory in overtime. Lulea Basket outrebounded Telge 53-35 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Ivey Slaughter (186-94, college: FSU) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. The other American import guard Natisha Hiedeman (173-97, college: Marquette) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Dara Taylor (171-91, college: Penn St.) who recorded 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and American-American Samoan power forward Sarah Toeaina (185-96, college: Hawaii) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Telge's coach Viktor Bengtsson rotated ten players in such tough game. Lulea Basket (12-2) moved-up to second place. Telge at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Lulea Basket will face league's leader Hogsbo in Goteborg in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Telge will play at home against Alvik Basket (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
