Regular Season Round 27: Baerum Basket - Centrum 100-87

There was no surprise in Bekkestua where 7th ranked Centrum (8-18) was defeated by third ranked Baerum Basket (18-8) 100-87 on Tuesday. Baerum Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Centrum's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Sjur Berg (201-96, college: Alaska-Anch.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Stian Mjos (183-89) helped adding 25 points and 11 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Magnus Midtvedt (182-90) with 21 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and guard Henrik Lange (192-95) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Five Baerum Basket and four Centrum players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Baerum Basket. They moved-up to second place. Loser Centrum keeps the seventh position with 18 games lost. Baerum Basket will meet bottom-ranked Nidaros Jets (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Centrum will have a break next round.
