An exciting game was played in Indianapolis. Second ranked Pacers faced 4th placed Hornets. Host Pacers (34-24) smashed guests from Charlotte (19-38) 119-80. Pacers dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Hornets' 42. They outrebounded Hornets 57-39 including a 50-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pacers looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 22 passes made by Hornets' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pacers made 12 blocks. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian-American power forward Domantas Sabonis (209-96, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Malcolm Brogdon (196-92, college: Virginia) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Pacers players scored in double figures. Swingman Miles Bridges (201-98, college: Michigan St.) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and guard Cody Martin (201-95, college: Nevada) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pacers maintains second place with 34-24 record having seven points less than leader Toronto R. Loser Hornets keep the fourth position with 38 games lost. Pacers will have a break next day. Hornets will play at home against Knicks (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
