Second Stage Round 12: GOCOR-Sozh - RGUOR 69-64

Very expected game in Gomel where bottom-ranked RGUOR (0-10) was defeated by seventh ranked GOCOR-Sozh (11-9) 69-64 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 19-7 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. GOCOR-Sozh dominated on the defensive end, holding RGUOR to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded RGUOR 46-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Denis Yarets (188-89) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists and guard Timofey Verevkin (185-93) who added 15 points, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. GOCOR-Sozh's coach Andrey Chvankov used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was point guard Timur Michailov (196-4) with 23 points and 4 assists and forward Daniil Kosko (189-4) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. GOCOR-Sozh have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 11-9 record. RGUOR at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. GOCOR-Sozh will have a break next round. RGUOR will play on the road against Prinemanye (#9) in Grodno and hopes to get finally their first victory.
